The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has announced the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative 2024. This program will focus on helping unskilled and unemployed individuals across Nigeria by providing them with essential skills. As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, this initiative aims to improve the lives of 93,731 people by offering hands-on training in various fields.
Program Focus and Objectives
The primary goal of this program is to reduce unemployment by equipping participants with skills they can use to start their own small businesses or pursue jobs in specific sectors. Participants will learn vocational, agricultural, and entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, some will work in the public works sector. More than 30 different skills will be taught, providing a variety of options for participants.
In addition to training, the program offers resources like start-up capital, equipment, and tools to help participants get started after completing the training. The program also links participants to credit institutions, so they have access to loans for launching small and medium-sized businesses.
