The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has made an open call for applications from interested and qualified candidates to fill vacant positions in the Federal Fire Service (FFS). This announcement is directed towards interested candidates, and is encouraging suitably qualified individuals to apply for full-time positions.
Federal Fire Service Recruitment
Recruitment is ongoing into different cadre categories. Majorly, there are two categories, including A and B.
Category A: Inspectorate Cadre includes Inspector of Fire (IF), CONPASS 07 (Nursing) (must be Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Midwives (RM), or hold Registered Nurse/Midwife (RNIM) qualifications obtained from recognised institutions and Assistant Inspector of Fire (AIF), CONPASS 06 (must possess a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a National Diploma (ND) in a relevant field, obtained from recognised polytechnics or institutions).
Category B: Assistant Cadre includes vacant positions in Fire Assistant II (FA II), CONPASS 04 (must have a General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level, Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), or National Examination Council (NECO) certification. A minimum of five (5) credits in no more than two sittings, including English and Mathematics) and Fire Assistant III (FA III) Appliance Driver (Specialist), CONPASS 03 (must hold GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE, or NECO certifications with a minimum of five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics. Additionally, a Class E Driver’s Licence is an advantage).
Candidates are advised to pick a suitable role and apply for it according to their academic and professional qualifications. The recruitment is FREE for all. As long as you meet the requirements, you are welcome to submit your online application.
Federal Fire Service Recruitment Requirements
To qualify for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- All required certificates must be presented at the recruitment centre. Any certificates or qualifications not submitted during the recruitment process will not be accepted later.
- Applicants must be physically fit and provide medical fitness certificates from government-recognised hospitals.
- Computer literacy will be considered an added advantage.
- Candidates must be of good character and free of any criminal record.
- Membership in secret societies, cults, or involvement in drug abuse or financial misconduct is strictly prohibited.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Minimum height: 1.65m for males, 1.60m for females.
- Minimum chest measurement for males: 0.87m.

- Complete the online application form.
- Download and print the referee forms, ensuring they are duly completed for submission during the screening process.
- Avoid multiple applications, as this will result in automatic disqualification.
Submission Deadline
Applications must be submitted online within six weeks from the date of publication. Late submissions will not be accepted.
