Lagos State Health Service Commission Begins 2024 Recruitment

The Lagos State Health Service Commission (LSHSC) has officially announced various job openings for healthcare professionals. This recruitment drive covers positions for both experienced professionals and interns across multiple disciplines, offering qualified individuals a chance to contribute to healthcare services.

Consultants

The Health Service Commission is seeking qualified consultants. Applicants must have an MBBS degree or an equivalent from an accredited institution. In addition, they should have completed a fellowship with the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in their specialty area. Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria is required, along with a valid license to practice. Applicants must also hold an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate, as well as a WAEC certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Medical and Dental Officers

For medical and dental officer positions, candidates need an MBBS or BDS degree from an accredited institution. They must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and hold a valid practice license. The position requires an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Medical Laboratory Scientist

This role requires candidates to have a Medical Laboratory Science degree or equivalent from a recognized institution. Applicants must be registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and have a valid license. An NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate, as well as a WAEC certificate, is also required.

Pharmacist

Pharmacist positions are open to those with a BPharm degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. Candidates need to be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and hold a valid license. An NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent qualification are also mandatory.

Pharmacy Technician

Those interested in the pharmacy technician position must possess a Pharmacy Technician Certificate from an accredited institution. They should be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and have a valid license to practice. A WAEC certificate or its equivalent is also necessary.

Nursing Officer

The nursing officer role includes specialties like general nursing, midwifery, perioperative, accident & emergency, orthopaedic, nephrology, paediatric, ENT, intensive care, psychiatry, ophthalmology, anaesthesia, cardiothoracic, burns and plastic nursing, public health nursing, and occupational health nursing. Candidates must have a Nursing Certificate from an accredited institution, with a BNSC degree as an added advantage.

Post Basic Nursing certification in the relevant specialty is required. Additionally, registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and a valid practice license are necessary. Candidates also need an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate (where applicable) and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Dietician/Nutritionist

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from a recognized institution. Registration with the Institute of Dietetics of Nigeria and a valid license to practice are required, along with an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Physiotherapist

Physiotherapist candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution. Registration with the Physiotherapy Registration Board of Nigeria and a valid license to practice are required, along with an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Radiographer

The radiographer role requires a bachelor’s degree in Radiography or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. Applicants must be registered with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria and have a valid license. An NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent are also necessary.

Optometrist

For optometry roles, candidates must have a Doctor of Optometry degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. Registration with the Optometry Registration Board of Nigeria and a valid license to practice are required. Applicants must also hold an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Health Information Management Officer/Technologist

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or ND/HND in Health Information Management from an accredited institution. They must be registered with the Health Information Registration Board of Nigeria and have a valid license to practice, along with an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Medical Laboratory Technician

Applicants for this role need a Technician Certificate in Medical Laboratory from an accredited institution. Registration with the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria and a valid permit to practice are required, along with a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Dental Technician

Dental technician candidates must have a Dental Technician Certificate from an accredited institution. Registration with the Dental Council of Nigeria and a valid permit to practice are required, along with a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Dental Therapist

This position requires a Higher National Diploma in Dental Therapy from an accredited institution. Registration with the Dental Council of Nigeria and a valid license to practice are necessary, along with a WAEC certificate or equivalent.

Intern Positions Available

The Health Service Commission also offers various internship roles across medical fields. Intern roles are available for medical and dental house officers, nurse interns, pharmacy interns, physiotherapy interns, medical laboratory science interns, optometry interns, and radiographer interns.

Each of these positions requires applicants to have a degree certificate or statement of result from an accredited institution. The appropriate council registration and a provisional license are necessary for practice. Intern candidates must also present a WAEC certificate or equivalent qualification.
