The Nigerian Army has commenced the application process for the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (RRI) for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise. The ongoing recruitment is for regular intake applicants who are ready to serve the nation. If you are interested in joining the Nigerian Army, now is the time to apply.
Method of Application
Follow the steps below to complete your application:
- Visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
- Enter your username and password to log in.
- Fill out the free online application form and submit it. After submission, print a copy of your completed form.
- Make sure to print and complete the Guarantor Form. It must be signed by the appropriate authorities.
- When reporting to the state recruitment centers, ensure you have duly signed copies of both the application form and the guarantor form.
Basic Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for the Nigerian Army 88RRI recruitment, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be single and Nigerian citizens by birth. A National Identity Card or NIN slip and Bank Verification Number (BVN) are required.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.
- Applicants must have no criminal convictions.
- A valid birth certificate or age declaration issued by the National Population Commission, hospital, or Local Government Council is required.
- A valid certificate of state of origin is necessary.
- Applicants must be at least 1.68 meters tall for males and 1.65 meters tall for females.
- Age Limits For non-tradesmen/women applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old as of 31 December 2024 while For tradesmen/women, applicants must be between 18 and 26 years old as of 31 December 2024.
- All applicants must have at least 4 passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB exams. Applicants for tradesmen/women positions must also have a Trade Test or City & Guild Certificate. More details are available on the recruitment website.
- Applicants are expected to bring warm clothing, such as cardigans, head warmers, gloves, and blankets, to the screening centers.
- Candidates with tattoos or bodily inscriptions are not eligible to apply or belong to any secret society, cult, or fraternity.
- Minimum Age for Non-Tradesmen/Women: 18 years old while Maximum Age for Non-Tradesmen/Women 22 years old.
- Minimum Age for Tradesmen/Women: 18 years old while Maximum Age for Tradesmen/Women is 26 years old.
- Minimum Height for Male Applicants is 1.68 meters while Minimum Height for Female Applicants: 1.65 meters.
- All applicants must possess WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB certificates. Tradesmen and women must also have a Trade Test or City & Guild Certificate.
- Candidates must present their National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips at the screening centers.
- Applicants who can swim will have an added advantage.

Applicants must adhere to the following instructions during the recruitment process:
There will be no pre-selection computer-based tests for candidates. Recruitment will not be conducted at special centers. All candidates will be screened at their state of origin. According to the recruitment unit, All potential recruits will undergo screening in their respective states of origin.
Candidates are not allowed to bring electronic or recording devices to the screening venue. Candidates must present original copies of their educational certificates (both primary and secondary).
Any candidate caught with falsified or forged documents will be disqualified, even if the forgery is discovered during training at Depot NA. Candidates are also advised not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any individual or group to assist them in the recruitment process.
Names of shortlisted candidates for the state recruitment exercise will be published on the Nigerian Army website. Shortlisted candidates must report to their respective state of origin for screening between 5th and 19th December 2024.
