Nigerian Navy Opens 2024 Recruitment for Basic Training School Batch 37

The Nigerian Navy has officially announced the commencement of its recruitment process for Batch 37 of the Basic Training School. Starting from 15 November 2024, qualified Nigerians are invited to apply and work towards a career in the Nigerian Navy. The Navy urges all candidates to avoid paying anyone claiming they can assist with applications. The only authorised website for registration is www.joinnigeriannavy.com.

How to Apply

The recruitment portal, www.joinnigeriannavy.com, will be open from 15 November 2024. Applicants are advised to follow all instructions on the website meticulously to avoid errors that could lead to disqualification. All applicants must submit only one application. Submitting multiple applications will lead to immediate disqualification from the recruitment process.

Upon completing the online application, applicants must print out the following documents:

  1. Acknowledgement Form – to confirm that the application was submitted.
  2. Parent/Guardian Consent Form – must be signed by the applicant’s parent or guardian.
  3. Local Government Attestation Form – this form must be signed by a Commander in the Nigerian Navy, a similar military rank, or a Local Government Chairman.
  4. Guarantor’s Certification Form – provides assurance of the applicant’s suitability for the role.

Eligibility Requirements

The Nigerian Navy has outlined specific eligibility criteria for all applicants. Only those who meet these criteria will be considered for the Basic Training School.

  1. Nationality: All applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  2. Height: Male applicants must be at least 1.69 metres tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.65 metres.

O’Level / SSCE Holders:

  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 22 as of 31 December 2024.
  • Should have a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English, from no more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB. The results must not be older than 2018.

OND / NCE Holders:

  • Must be between 18 and 26 years of age by 31 December 2024.
  • Chaplain/Imam Assistants, Drivers, and Mechanics may be up to 28 years old.
  • Applicants should have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, from no more than two sittings. Certificates must not be older than 2014.

Tradesmen:

  • Tradesmen applying for positions such as Tailoring, Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Welding, Electrician, Painting, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Technology must possess a Trade Test certificate.
  • A credit in English and four other subject passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB from 2014 or later are also required.

Medical and Allied Professions:

Applicants in allied medical professions must hold a National Diploma from a recognised training institution in Nigeria and must possess a valid practicing licence.

Sportsmen and Sportswomen:

Applicants with athletic skills should provide evidence of their experience, such as certificates, medals, and records in their sporting field.

Proficiency in English

All applicants are required to have a proficient command of the English language. Applicants who are unable to demonstrate basic English proficiency may be disqualified at any stage of the recruitment process. English proficiency is essential for the training and communication involved in the Navy’s operations.

After completing the application, shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in a Recruitment Aptitude Test, scheduled for 18 January 2025. This test will take place at multiple designated centres across the nation.
