NPC Recruitment for Adhoc Staff

Since Nigeria needs to know its current national population, the National Population Commission (NPC) has JUST announced the commencement of online applications for ad-hoc staff recruitment for the 2024 Population and Housing Census. According to the NPC, the application period starts on 31st October 2024 and will run until 28 December 2024. That is about two months of staying staying open for interested candidates to register.

Available NPC Recruitment Positions

Interested applicants can apply for various ad hoc roles within the census operations. These positions include Field Coordinators, Facilitators, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Training Centre Administrators, Enumerators, Quality Assurance Officers, Supervisors and Data Quality Managers.

These NPC positions will only be occupied by eligible candidates. The NPC has promised that the recruitment process will remain transparent and fair. Cases of job racketeering will be severely dealt with by the Commission.

NPC Recruitment Requirements

The NPC has outlined several requirements for prospective candidates. To qualify for any of the listed roles, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.
  • A valid NIN (National Identification Number) is required for all applicants.
  • Candidates must provide an active and functional email address.
  • A valid and functional phone number is necessary.
  • Applicants must have an operational commercial bank account. Student or NYSC accounts will not be accepted.
  • Candidates must possess valid educational qualifications, which may include a Secondary School Certificate, High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctorate.
  • Applicants should be proficient in using computers, tablets, and smartphones.

How to Apply for NPC Recruitment 2024

Applicants are required to register on the NPC Census e-Recruitment portal at https://nationalpopulation.gov.ng. The recruitment process mandates the submission of the following documents:

  • National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Functional Gmail account
  • Functional phone number
  • Operational commercial bank account (no student accounts)
  • Valid educational certificates

Once again, the e-recruitment portal officially opened on 27 October 2024 and will close on 10 December 2024. However, the NPC has announced a temporary closure of the portal from 7 to 13 November 2024 for audit and assessment purposes.

Staff Deployment and Areas of Assignment

Applicants will only be considered for deployment within the areas where they reside. This ensures that candidates are familiar with their deployment locations, enhancing the efficiency of the census process.

The NPC has emphasised that the application process is FREE. Applicants are warned to be cautious of internet fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the process.
